DT gets facelist.

keig Filed Under:
Dear DT Readers:

Past a month and a half, we have been redesigning DivingList to improve reader experience based on the feedback we've received from the readers and some experts we interacted. Next couple of days, you may experience some service interruptions.

Some of the exciting features we will be releasing are:
  • Improved Design & Site Experience
Users will be able to browse our site by category without searching. Search Feature will remain on the site.
  • Reader Comments
Readers will be able to comment on the post. The comments will be open to anyone and accessible to all readers. Comments will be moderated to increase the integrity of our site, and comments policy will be posted in our "About" section. No advertisement in the comment section will be accepted.
  • Facebook Connect and Twitter
You will be able to comment via your Facebook Account as well as Twitter account.
  • Advertising Option
While DivingList remains the way it always has been, "Unbiased" place where divers of all levels including dive store owners, dive professionals, and dive travel agents can obtain great deals, we will be offering advertising opportunities to expand the circle. The details will be released by the end of 2009. For more information, please contact advertise (at) divinglist.com. There is no obligation.
During this roll-out, we continue to push news and deals via Facebook Fan Page (http://www.facebook.com/pages/DIVINGLIST/113361582416) as well as Twitter (http://www.twitter.com/divinglist).

At this moment, there will be no change in RSS Feed. We will post information if there is any changes.

If you have any questions in regards to our (small) Facelift project, feel free to leave a wall post on our Facebook Fan page or @ reply us on Twitter.

If you are an operator in the diving industry and have red hot news, do e-mail us at tips (at) divinglist.com.

Thank you for being our precious reader!

Many Bubbles,
Team DT

Find AirFare... in One Shot + Bonus for UK/GB Readers

keig Filed Under: Labels: ,
From random search:

We ran into this website - Functravel.com and let us tell you why we want to post this website. It's because... it'll search the cheapest airfare all in one shot. Well-known website, Kayak.com does the same thing, but what we liked about this website is the straight-forwardness of the website. You type in where you are flying from and to, put dates, and hit go. All the filters that you can apply is easy to navigate also, and the results are listed in easy-to-read grid.

Check out: http://www.functravel.com/Flight/

And this is bonus for UK/GB Readers on Thailand Travel:

From Random Search:

Some of you may have seen the posting on sportdiver.com, but we really thought it is good to post on DivingList to spread the word. After searching and searching, we ended up on etahititravel.com for all Tahiti travel needs. The website lists quite a few specials on the home page, but why look at them when they have a page dedicated to Scuba Diving! There are about 10-12 packages listed. All levels of divers are accommodated, according to the post, and the diving is offered by TopDive.

Thinking Bora yet?

Bahamas... Anyone? 40% OFF!

keig Filed Under: Labels:
From Random Search:

We ran into this post on concierge.com, where the great deals on the Bahamian getaways were posted. It's up to 40% off... nope, we're not kidding. The article is really well written. Why? Well, it'll tell you where you can stay (and website and phone numbers you can call), the pricing, how much you'd be saving,  and when you need to complete the travel by. In addition to that, there is a section for the airfare. That's really a one-stop editor's picks!

Check out: http://www.concierge.com/cntraveler/blogs/perrinpost/2009/09/bahamas-cheap-vacations.html

We think those hotels are pretty cool, being that they are the "editor's picks."

Triple Post: Dive Photo Trip to Gear Sale to...

keig Filed Under: Labels: , ,
From our (small) inbox to FB to..:

We're going to the triple post today because... it's one of our team members' birthday tomorrow!

First post is Dive Photo Guide (http://www.divephotoguide.com). We received a note earlier with notifying that there are ONLY a few spots left for their Walindi Resort, Papua New Guinea trip in October of 2010. As you may know, they are closely working with NYUPS (New York Underwater Photographic Society - http://www.nyups.org) and DPG's expedition trip is one of the reputable ones (and well-known one) in the scuba industry. If you haven't seen the sardine photos by Jason from their previous trip, you missed something.

For more info on their 2010 trip, visit: http://www.divephotoguide.com/underwater-photography-expedition/papua_new_guinea_underwater_photo_video_festival_2010/

Second post is... O'Three. While digging up some links on Facebook, we ran into O'Three, UK based Dive, Surface, and Surf shop. Visiting their online store, we discovered that they are doing some Summer Sale on Oceanic BCD, Viper Fins, Regulator, and V16 split fins.

For more info, visit: http://www.shop.othree.co.uk/saleitems/cat_saleItems.html

Last post of the day, we fly to the beautiful Indonesia. Tasik Ria Resort Spa & Diving, which happened to be one of our fans on Facebook. While checking out their website, we ran into the Price List. (of course...) Their 3-day diving package is very reasonable. And don't forget... the resort looks very nice!!! To convince your non-diver family member(s), you can suggest their spa treatment while you are diving. (hint hint)

Check out: http://www.tasikria.com/

So, which one is your favorite post of the day?

From Our (small) Inbox:

We received a note last night in regards to the Annual Soiree by Iemanya Oceanica, the non-profit foundation dedicated to the conservation of sharks, rays, and their habitats. You may know them as "Adopt-A-Shark" of Adapotashark.com - Adopt a Shark is one of their programs.

This upcoming September 17, 2009, Iemanya Oceanica is hoting an annual soiree at the Skirball Cultural Center in the beautiful City of Angels (Los Angels). (Invitation is on the left.) From 6pm, it starts with Mako Martini Auction to Live Entertainment to honoring of Councilman Ed Reyes for his conservation efforts, the ticket to this soiree starts from $100.

However... we are not going to disappoint you (remember, we find things...) We were able to obtain the promotional code from the Iemanya Oceanica to get $25 off of the ticket!!!

To purchase the ticket(s), go to: https://co.clickandpledge.com/sp/d1/default.aspx?wid=28326
And use the promotional code of "2Sharksfor1" at the Checkout.

Why not help sharks & rays, have fun at the soiree with people who care about them in the City of Angels? The promotion does not last too long and the space is limited.

At DivingList, we care very much about marine and environmental conservations. Please, if you know of anyone who cares about sharks and rays, kindly share the links for this event.
